Olivia Rodrigo exploded onto the music scene in early 2021 with her massively successful debut single, “Drivers License.” The brutally honest breakup ballad resonated with fans worldwide, showcasing Rodrigo’s talents as a songwriter at just 17 years old. Within two months of its release, “Drivers License” had broken the Spotify record for most streams in a day for a non-holiday song.

Rodrigo was born on February 20, 2003, in Temecula, California. She began acting professionally as a child, starring as Paige Olvera on the Disney Channel series “Bizaardvark” (2016-2019). However, writing emotional songs inspired by her own life is where Rodrigo’s true talents lie.

After the huge success of “Drivers License,” Rodrigo released her critically acclaimed debut album, Sour, in May 2021. Fueled by the chart-topping singles “drivers license,” “deja vu,” and “good 4 u,” Sour explores heartbreak, jealousy, and insecurity with raw vulnerability. Within a month of its release, all 11 tracks from Sour appeared simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100.

At the 2022 Grammy Awards, an incredible feat for a debut album, Rodrigo took home trophies for Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album. Her seven total nominations were the second most ever received by a female artist in a single year.

With her universal relatability and masterful pop songwriting that resonates deeply with her Gen Z peers, Olivia Rodrigo has solidified herself as the voice of her generation.
